Mint冰激凌店是一家座落于重庆网红地标鹅岭TESTBED2二厂文创园的甜品店，取名“Mint”，意为有薄荷香的，正如空间的主色调。它还有另外一层涵义，女主人和男主人在一次环球旅行中相识相爱，最终回到重庆选择用一种甜蜜的方式携手，于是选取两个人的英文名组合成了如今的Mint。

 

设计者希望无论是味蕾带来的欢愉，还是刻骨铭心的爱情都可以用一种特别的方式保存在时间或者空间里。本着这样的初衷——“一个美好世界的入口”，Mint冰激凌店应运而生。

 

Mint  Artisan  Gelateria is located in an online sensation,TESTBED2 Cultural and Creative Park in Eling Chongqing. For one thing, “Mint” refers to the dominant tone of the space; for the other thing, “Mint”is the combination of the host and the hostess’s English names which tells a romantic story: The two met and fall in love in a round-the-world trip, and finally returned to Chongqing to get married. The designer hopes that both the delight of the taste buds and the unforgettable love could be kept in time or space via a special way. Therefore, the Mint Ice Cream Shop was born for the original idea of “the entrance to a wonderful world”.

 

 

Mint的空间其实不大，但位置非常好，正在鹅岭TESTBED2二厂文创园的入口处。走进TESTBED2二厂文创园，你会被Mint带有“M”字样的拱形门吸引，因Mint是一家意大利手工冰激凌，其灵感M型墙面设计来自古罗马斗兽场拱形门，这座崭新的建筑用刚硬的外壳包裹内部柔软的空间氛围。鲜明的薄荷绿色与不同材质形成老旧的工业风碰撞，既营造视觉冲击，也用趣味思维唤起顾客对冰激凌融化状态的记忆，无形中加强对Mint品牌印象的认知。

 

The Space is not big but boasts a good location which is the entrance of TESTBED2 Cultural and Creative Park. One will soon attracted by the M-shaped arched door. It comes from the colosseum arched door for the reason that Mint is an Italian handmade ice cream shop. Presenting a surprising contrast, inside the rigid new architecture is a soft and comfortable interior space. As bright mint green blended with different materials,the space gives one an impression of the old industrial style, which not only creates a strong visual impact, but also evokes the customers the memory of melting ice cream, thus virtually strengthen the recognition of Mint brand image in their mind.

Mint内部由原有的钢结构作为支撑，使用大量的镜面贯穿整个空间，为主要的室内区域提供最大化的视野。而内部装饰的圆润线条述说着冰激凌的温柔甜美，白天，阳光从外墙进入室内，整个空间成为一个如梦如幻的美好世界，将游客从周围吸引过来。

 

The mint interior is supported by the original steel structure, which uses a large number of mirrors throughout the space, providing the maximum visibility for the main indoor areas. And the smooth lines of the interior is conceived as the metaphor for the ice cream’s tenderness and sweetness. During the day, the Sun enters the interior from the outer wall, making the whole space a dream-like wonderful world and attracting the visitors from around.

当然，除了设计，Mint冰激凌店里奇特创新的新式口味冰激凌，诸如花椒味、鹅蛋味、酒酿味等，也是Mint自身在甜品类里成为行业新标杆的原因所在。

 

Of course, in addition to the design, Mint  Artisan  Gelateria’s peculiar innovative new flavor ice cream, such as pepper flavor, goose egg flavor, sweet fermented-rice flavor, also make Mint the new benchmark for the dessert industry.

 

 

 

从最初结合场域的空间设计，到现在成为TESTBED2二厂文创园的榜样。Mint的空间设计虽然小，从建筑外部空间、形态元素的衍生，加上镜面和烤漆材料的运用，它们以一种相互尊重的态度并置在同一空间中，展开了一段老建筑与现代设计的对话。正如设计者所言，好的空间不仅是满足漂亮，还能尊重过去同时又能预示未来。

 

From the initial site-featured space design, to the example of TESTBED2 Cultural and Creative Park, all things in Mint, including the exterior space and the derivation of the morphological elements, as well as the use of mirror and baking varnish, are placed in the same space with a respectful attitude, beginning a dialogue between old architecture and modern design. As the designer puts it, a good space should not only be pleasing to the eye, but also should respect the past and predict the future.
